Cast Iron Skillet Pan

How to season your cast iron.

Step 1: Wash & Dry

Rinse with warm water and mild soap, then dry thoroughly with a towel to prevent rust.

Step 2: Oil Entire Pan

Spread a thin, even layer of oil over the whole pan, including the exterior.

Step 3: Bake in Oven

Place the oven proof pan upside down in a 190°C (375°F) oven and bake for one hour to set the seasoning.

Step 4: Cool in Oven

Turn off the oven and allow the pan to cool inside completely before using or storing.

How to maintain your cast iron.

Step 1: Wash & Scrub

Rinse with warm water and scrub clean, using a little mild soap only if needed.

Step 2: Dry Thoroughly

Towel dry the pan, then warm it on the stovetop for 2–3 minutes to remove any moisture.

Step 3: Oil Lightly

Apply a very thin, even coat of oil across the surface to help maintain seasoning.

Step 4: Store Dry

Let the pan cool completely, then store in a dry place with a paper towel between cast iron pans.
